Day 1: Windhoek – Kalahari (Approx 450 km/5,5 hours) - From Windhoek we drive to the South, this is the home of the Nama people, one of the San speaking tribes of Namibia and their unique language includes 4 different clicking sounds. We’ll be driving through mountainous areas with truly spectacular views.
- Our drive will also take as along the edge of the beautiful Kalahari Desert.
- We will arrive in time in time to witness a stunning sunset over the Kalahari Desert.
Day 2: Kalahari - Canyon (Approx 400 km/4,5 hours) - After leaving the Kalahari we’ll arrive in the ancient Namib Desert, a harsh and rocky desert region with its own stark beauty.
- While we’re travelling we will be able to see game like oryx and ostrich.
- Finally we will reach our spectacular destination for the evening.
Day 3: Fish River Canyon (Approx 50 km/1 hour) - This morning we’ll drive to the second biggest Canyon in the world, the Fish River Canyon.
- While at this amazing 350 million year old canyon, we will have our lunch and enjoy the breath taking views.
- There will be plenty of time to relax when we return to the lodge.
Day 4: Canyon – Aus (Approx 300 km/4 hours) - From Fish River Canyon we’ll spend the day travelling through the Namib Desert to the town of Aus, near Luderitz.
Day 5: Aus- Lüderitz - Aus (Approx 200 km/3 hours)
- A day of historic exploration in Lüderitz.
- For those who wish to explore by water it is possible to take a sail-boat cruise in the morning. The cruise will take you to Dias point, the spot where the first European man set foot on Namibian soil. This activity is not included in the Safari but can be arranged by our guide.
- In the afternoon we will drive to Diaz point for a view from a different vantage point than offered by the cruise.
- We will pay a visit to the mining ghost town of Kolmanskop where the first diamond in Namibia was discovered.
- From Kolmankskop we’ll take a short drive to the area populated with stunning wild horses.
- Lunch will be at your own expense.
Day 6: Aus - Sossusvlei (Approx 370 km/4 hours) - Driving through the desert with its volcanic and eroded rock formations we will make our way to the red dunes at Sessriem.
- We’ll be passing through a terrain of sand dunes and grassy desert savannah rich with wild life.
- Our arrival will coincide with stunningly dramatic views of the sun setting over the dunes.
Day 7: Sossusvlei dunes (approx 120 km/2 hours) - The experience of seeing the sunrise over the dunes and its miraculous effect on the shifting desert sands will make a very early morning start worthwhile. For the most breathtaking views, you can climb Dune 45, at about 120 meters high the most famous dune in the world.
- After sunrise, we will be walking through the dunes, where we walk by ancient mineral pans and stunted camel thorn trees and be able to see oryx and ostrich foraging in the dunes.
- In the afternoon we’ll have time to relax and swim before heading out to the last canyon on our trip, the Sessriem Canyon.
- At Sessriem we’ll be watching the sunset through the second biggest canyon in Namibia.
- Optional activities like Hot-air Ballooning and scenic flights are available but aren’t included in the Safari. If you’d like to take part in one of them our guide will arrange it for you.
Day 8: Sossusvlei – Swakopmund ( Approx 390 km/4,5 hours) - Travelling via scenic roads, the Gaub and Kuiseb mountainous passes and along the famous skeleton coast, we’ll pass the Tropic of Capricorn and eventually reach the biggest coastal town of Namibia, Swakopmund.
- On the way we will be able to spot more wildlife.
- At Walvis Bay, we’ll stop to see thousands of graceful flamingos, a magnificent sight, especially if you’re lucky enough to see them take flight simultaneously.
- We will arrive in Swakopmund in the afternoon. Swakopmund has a wide range of activities on offer, you can go sky diving, Quad biking, sand boarding, fishing or dolphin cruising. If you’re interested in taking part in any just let our guide know and he’ll arrange the bookings for you. Please note that these extra activities are not included in the price of the safari.
Day 9: Swakopmund - A full day in Swakopmund. As there are so many things to see and go, and so many activities to partake in, the day is yours to do with as you please: shopping, adventure sports, adrenalin filled activities or just relaxing with a book and cup of fresh ground African coffee. Your guide can advise you further on the many attractions in Swakopmund.
- Lunch is at your own expense.
Day 10: Swakopmund Hotel- Tyfelfontein area. (approx 470 km/6 hours) - Our day begins with a visit to Cape Cross, where we can find thousands of cape fur seals frolic on the coast. Cape Cross has the largest seal colony of Southern Africa.
- From here we turn east and head back into the desert toward the beautiful area of Damaraland.
- On the way we’ll stop at the small town of Uis. This old mining town situated in the desert, is one of the best places to buy semi precious stones for which Namibia is famous.
- From Uis we head to Brandberg Mountain, the highest mountain in Namibia and an ancient Bushman spiritual site. We ’ll hike Brandberg with our guide to view the world famous "White lady" rock painting, a 20.000 year old example Bushman art.
- After our hike we’ll continue our journey, making it to our lodge just in time for sunset.
Day 11: Twyfelfontein - Etosha National Park (Approx 350 km/4,5 hours) - It’s an early rise this morning to visit the site of Tyfelfontein, which houses an impressive collection of ancient Busmen rock engravings.
- The next stop, after a short journey, is the magnificent 280 million year old Petrified Forest.
- From the forest we drive on to Etosha National Park, arriving in time for our late afternoon game drive.
- After sunset, you can watch a wide variety of game, such as lions, rhino’s and elephants, coming to the waterhole located at the edge of the resort, for a night drink.
Day 12: Etosha National Park (approx 110 kms/8 hours) - Today, we will spend the day game driving through Etosha National Park, which will include a stop off for lunch at Halali Camp, a rest area in the middle of the Park, where you can swim and cool off before continuing on our journey.
- After a full day exploring the park we’ll arrive at our accommodation site in time to relax and stretch our legs before dinner and spend the evening in comfort.
- The waterhole at the edge of this resort also provides fantastic opportunities to watch a variety of game stopping for their evening drink.
Day 13: Etosha National Park to Waterberg Plateau Park (approx 360 kms/4 hours) - Our final day begins with a morning game drive through Etosha and onwards to an area with minimun human impact: the Waterberg Plateau Park.
- We’ll visit the historical site of Waterberg, where we’ll see ancient Bushmen rock engravings, as well as some amazing 180 to 200 million years old dinosaur prints, a real favourite!
- It’s been a long and hard journey for Namibia to give back the freedom of the sky to captive bred and rehabilitated cape vultures, we’ll show you were to find them and tell you their amazing story.
Day 14: Waterberg Plateau Park to Windhoek (approx 350 kms/4 hours) - Today we'll drive to an area with minimun human impact: the Waterberg Plateau Park.
- On the way we’ll visit Okahandja, the nations largest wood carving market and a great place to shop for souvenirs.
- When we reach Windhoek our guide will drop you at your desired location. As the safari is finished this will be your chosen accommodation. We advise you to book this in advance.
