  • Area: 824.292 km2. As a reference: Namibia is 3.5 times the size of the United Kingdom; 20 times the size of The Netherlands; 2.3 times the size of Germany; 1.5 times the size of France, 27 times the size of Belgium. Australia however, is 9.3 times the size of Namibia.
  • Borders: Angola, Botswana, South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe and the Atlantic coast line.
  • Capital City: Windhoek, population 250000.
  • Politics: Namibia is a Democratic Republic.
  • Namibia has 13 administrative regions.
  • Namibia is a member of the United Nations, African Union and the Commonwealth.
  • Religion: 80-90% Christianity, 10% traditional religions.
  • Currency: Namibian dollar (pecked to the South African Rand).
  • Export: Diamonds and other mining products, as well as food articles.
  • Import: machinery, transport products, food articles and tobacco.
  • Independence: Namibia gained independence on the 21st of March 1990.
    Before independence, it was a German colony and a South African mandated territory.
