  • In 2006 the population of Namibia was approximately 2 million.
  • With only 2 people per square kilometre, the population density is one of the lowest in the world.
  • 60% of the population lives in the North.
  • Namibian has a number of cultural groups: 50% Owambo, 9% Kavango, 7% Herero, 7% Damara, 6.5% Coloured, 6% White, 5% Nama, 4% Caprivi, 3% San, 2% Baster and 0.5% Twana.
  • The official language is English, others include Afrikaans and German.
